NOTD: S-he 469

Today I'm wearing S-he nail polish 469, which I got the other day from elchy. This one has metallic finish and it's a bit streaky and I probably should go for one more layer, because I'm not very skilful when it comes to metallic polishes (on the pictures are two layers). I like this green colour, it reminds on a meadow. The only thing missing on my nails are some daisies :)

Something about S-he polishes: they dry very quick, they are under 2€ for 11 ml bottle and you can find them in some great colours. The brush is a bit thin and soft but o.k.

Thanks for looking :)

Yes, More New Nail Polishes!

Here is a photo of new members of my "Nail Polish Family" :D

From left to right: Essence LE Pure Beauty (I bought it in Douglas - they have started selling Essence just recently and have old LE), Sinful Colors Deepest Ruby, Essie It's Genius and Essie Fill the Gap - these I got from Nati (thank you :))

P.S. I'm already picking up and collecting prizes for my giveaway...

Contest At Parokeets

As I said in my previous post, I couldn't show you the pictures of my today's manicure, because I've gathered enough courage to enter the contest at Parokeets.
Girls are celebrating their First Birthday (their blog I mean) :D
I've joined at Slovenian site, but all of you can enter at English (international) site here.

So at this point I would like to congratulate all the girls from Parokeets for their Bday, they do amazing manicures, MU, share useful tips...

You can still send pictures of your manicure or make up until 31.1.2010 23:59.
After that date the voting will begin. Don't miss the opportunity to participate or vote for your favourite ;)

New S-he Nail Polishes

I was really surprised this morning when I saw in my mail box a package that I didn't expect. I opened it and there were two nail polishes from my wish list in it :D
I got them from very kind girl - elchy from forum Ars Cosmetica. Thank you so much :*

Here they are, two gorgeus S-he nail polishes 454 and 469:

Lovely green one:

And just look this one with holo shimmer (a bit bigger shimmer, but not glitter yet I would say) in it:

I love them :D

Elchy, thank you again!

I already used one for my today's manicure, but I can't show you the pictures, because I've decided to use this pictures for one contest...

Creative Corner - Napkin Technique

When I was in elementary school I collected the paper napkins and a week ago I found them in our storage room. I couldn't believe it, I thought they were long gone :D
I was thinking what should I do with around 500 napkins...

Then few days ago I bought "Art Potch Laquer and Glue" for napkin technique. I've decided to decorate my usual cardboard boxes in which I store my nail polishes.
I was creative all morning and here are the results (here are 2 boxes, one is still drying):

I still need some practice, but I like the result and effect of this technique.

Thanks for stopping by :)

NOTD: Weird Home-Made Polish Named "Ugly Pants"

Hi, there :)

First I have to say I've got two new nail polishes and my WL has just got shorter. Here they are China Glaze Stella and Heart of Africa:

Now, I'm warning you, this nail polish isn't excatly the best thing you've ever seen. So at this point, you can still turn this page down :)
I was bored yesterday and wanted to make some home-made nail polish. I've pick some oldies (white nail polish and few mineral pigments) I don't use very often, mixed them together and the result was mildly said not very pretty. And I came up with appropriate name for this Franken of mine - Ugly Pants :)
And I've decided to leave this kind of "cooking" to nail polish companies :D

ELF Studio Brush Shampoo - Review

Yesterday I received ELF Studio Brush Shampoo and I tried it today.

I thought that my makeup brushes were clean... Well, clean enough to use them at least (I usually wash them with hot water and a bit of liquid soap or my facial gel after every use). But I was so wrong as you'll see in this post. They were so dirty that is a bit embarrassing show you the pics how very dirty *blush*

Here is the photo of this shampoo:

Directions for use:

Ingredients:

Here is my modest collection of brushes (4 are missing on this photo):

Water before cleansing:

...and after:

I followed the directions - I put some water in a little bowl, put 2-3 drops of shampoo in it, stir it up and than dip one brush at the time in it. Gently massaged into and through the bristles and than rinse thoroughly each brush with plenty of water. Meanwhile the water in that bowl got very strange colour :)

What can I say about this shampoo:
I like it, because it's cheap (it costs only 3,96€ for 120ml, ordered from ELF UK site) and what is the most important, it gets the job done.
This is my first brush shampoo, so I can not do a comparison with other similar products.

Which products do you use for cleansing your brushes?

New Nail Polishes!

I received five new nail polishes today. But only one of them was on my wish list - that's Essie Sexy Divide, the other four I have bought along, because they looked so cute in that package :)

Well, they are my first Color Club polishes and I do like the colours... *trying to ease my guilty conscience*

Here they are:

Have a nice evening!

NOTD: Essence Groovy And NYX Blue Ave.

I'm wearing Essence Chocolate Shake nail polish from Creamylicious LE. It's a brown/grey colour with tiny red shimmer. In the shadow when is no direct light it looks totally taupe. I'm not sure I even like this one... *thinking*

Here are some pics (2 coats & OPI Top Coat):

NOTD: Wet'n'Wild Timeless Red

Today I'm back to myself again...I'm wearing red nail polish :) This one I've got yesterday from Lyra. It's Wet'n'Wild Rock Solid in Timeless Red. It's a lovely shimmery crimson colour, altough it looks brighter in some photos made under artificial light than IRL.

I used Kiss Nail Strengthener as base coat, 2 coats of W'n'W polish and OPI Top Coat.

Two Fairies Visited Me Today :)

It was a bit hard and rough morning, but it got better when I came home and saw two packages on my desk. I dropped everything, started opening the packages and I must say that two fairies visited me this morning :D
And these two fairies are Bluebell from Bluebell's Beauty Blog and Lyra from Nail Junkie.

And here are all my goodies I've got from those two lovely and very nice girls.

Blubell has not just send me the prize I won at her giveaway, but whole lot more - now I have my first MAC lipglass, Ebelin highlight brush, a lot of mineral make up (that I love), just look...
Thank you so much, you really made my day :*

And here are the things I've got from Lyra. Look how many polishes I've got and I didn't even own any Milani, E.L.F. or Nyx nail polish before. Thank you :*

Again, let me say thank you both. You really turned my bad morning into a great day :*

LOTD: Alverde Anti-Aging Lipgloss Strawberry

I've been watching this Alverde Lipglosses ever since they were available in our country, but somehow never bought one. But after reading good opinion about it at Bluebell's, I've got two for myself - 50 Strawberry and 52 Iced Mocca.

Today I'm wearing shade Nr. 50 Strawberry. It's a gorgeus red shade with lot of shimmer in various colours (gold, even blue one...) in it.

NOTD: Essence Insider

I've put this one on, because my sister bought it for me a while ago. And because we had lunch together, it seemed appropriate to wear it.

Essence Insider is subtle and sheer nude polish with multi-coloured shimmer in it. Colour is changing from pearl to beige, peach and even pink and gold.

NOTD: Essie Sassy Satchel

There is quite a lot of polishes in my room wating for me to try them on and as I was looking at them, I've decided to give it a shot to Essie Sassy Satchel. And I'm satisfied with this choice. It's a rich shimmery colour that varies from red, brown, even purple and everything in between.

I used Kiss nail strengthener as a basecoat (I always do, but sometimes forget to mention it) and two coats of Essie nail polish. Here are the pictures taken at different lighting so you could see all the colours hiding in it:
