NOTD: Essence Plum Perfect

Maybe "Nails of the Hour" would be more appropriate title for this post, because that's how long my manicure lasted...


I put Essence nail polish in shade Plum Perfect from their Colour&Go line on this morning and about an hour later I was off to grape-gathering at our wineyard. I think there is no need for further explanation what that did to my manicure! *lol*

I really don't know what kind of colour is this, but it sure doesn't look like plum to me. Is it pink, purple? Berry, maybe? Help :)
I do know that it's smooth and easy to apply. I used 2 coats, but I could probably use just one, if I were more careful.

As I said yesterday, my life was a bit messy lately. I think I'm slowly getting back to normal now.

Next news :)

My cat wasn't feeling well and was acting very strangely last couple of days - he kept throwing up, then didn't want to eat anything and so on. So I took him to the vet on Monday and it turned out that he has Gastritis :S
Now I have to force him to eat anti-acid pills and he is on the strict diet for about 3-4 months. He ain't very happy cat right now that's for sure.
He also hates driving in a car and he was really angry all the time. Wanna see how a very angry cat looked like after we finally got home from the vet?

He slept like this entire Monday afternoon.

NOTD: Finger Paints Artist's Sapphire

It's been raining here for the last two days and we already have floods. The weather forecast said that it will still be raining tomorrow... :S


I'm feeling a bit blue lately, so I went for a blue nail polish. I have chosen Artist's Sapphire by Finger Paints. This my very first Finger Paints polish (thanks, Jessica) and I like it. Easy to apply, smooth and well pigmented. The only thing that bothered me a bit, is a bit longer handle than I'm use to. But after a finger or two, I got used to it :)

Artist's Sapphire is a gorgeous shimmery and very vibrant deep blue shade. Here it is in two coats:

My 2nd Lily Lolo Order & Swatches

Couple of weeks ago I discovered Slovenian web store called Specia.si that sells Lily Lolo products along with some other brands. I blogged about my first order at them and showed you the swatches of the Lily Lolo e/s I ordered at that time HERE - altough that post is in slovenian language only (because this webstore kindly offered my slovenian readers 15% discount code, I made that post in slovenian language), you can check out the swatches I made anyway, if you like :)


Well, I coudn't resist that discount, so I made the second (tiny) order. Here are the products I got - I ordered and paid for Lip Gloss in Raspberry Crush, samples of Translucent Silk & Flawless Matte Finishing Powders; there was also Chocolate Fudge Cake mineral e/s in my package that was sent to me for free:

Here is the Raspberry Crush Lip Gloss on my lips - it's a pretty pink shade with golden shimmer in it:

I was really excited about the eye shadow, because it's really interesting and more complex shade that I have expected - it looks like brownish purple colour with purple/blue sparkles in it in the jar...

...but when I made the wet swatch on my hand, I got to see this awesome blue sheen. On the left is Lip Gloss in Raspberry Crush and on the right is a wet swatch of the Chocolate Fudge Cake e/s:

Song of the day: Asia - Heat of the moment

NOTD: China Glaze Grape Juice

I haven't used any China Glaze polish for quite some time now. Don't even know why... But when I put Cherry Crystal on the other day, I have re-discovered the love for China Glaze polishes.

China Glaze Grape Juice is from Summer 2009 Collection and it's a soft purple shade, loaded with silver glass-flecked shimmer. And when I say loaded, I mean LOADED. Sometimes it even looks like it has foil finish. Annie, thank you again for this one :)


This baby was smooth and easy to work with. I used 2 coats:

NOTD: China Glaze Cherry Crystal

I've been a bit grumpy lately... It's so cold, rainy and dark last couple of days and my mood apparently matches the weather.


I though that a pretty shimmery red nail polish would make me feel better. Well, I'm still grumpy, but at least my nails look good :D

I'm wearing China Glaze Cherry Crystal that I got in a swap with lovely Annie at Nailstah. It's one of the old ones, I guess, because it's not a "nose-friendly" polish (it has quite strong smell). It's not a unique shade, but I like it anyway and it was on my wish list for long time (if you are with me for a longer period of time, then you know - if it's red and shimmery, then I like it).

Song of the day: Aerosmith - Crazy

NOTD: Essie Demure Vixen & Some More Awards

Essie Demure Vixen is the only polish that I have bought from their Summer 2010 Collection. I wasn't sure about it at first, but I really like how it looks on the nails.

Essie describes this colour as: "iridescent cocoa mauve", so I'll go with this description. It's a light mauve, with fine and subtle purple/blue shimmer. It's a very soft and lovely shade.


Application was good, I used 3 coats to get the full coverage. First two pictures were taken outside, but there was no sun, so I couldn't capture that shimmer in it:

Under artificial light the cocoa part of description steps forward and you can now see some shimmer too:
