NOTD: Essie Merino Cool

Hi! I have a quick post for you today. I somehow managed to paint my nails this morning before I went to work :)

It's the last polish from my Essie Fall order that I haven't shown you yet - Merino Cool. Beautiful creme taupe shade with a hint of purple. This one was a bit runny compared to the other two I have from this collection - Sew Psyched and Limited Addiction, but two thicker coats were enough to get a full coverage.

On to the picture. This was taken outside, but sadly there was no sun. It was also very cold, so this is why my hands look very red here:

I hope your week has started well! Thanks for reading :)

NOTD: Ciate Superficial

Finally, some NOTD post again! :D

It was a rough week for me. I'm trying to get used to this job I have now. I usually work until 4 p.m. and by the time I get home it is already completely dark, so I can't even take any pictures. Well, to be honest I wasn't even in the mood for painting my nails this week. But the first thing I did this morning - I cut my nails down and gave them some colour :D

I got my very first Ciate polish few days ago and here it is - Ciate Superficial! A gorgeous dark teal shade with creme finish. Formula is good, a bit on the thicker side, but managable. It's also very pigmented, so one coat could be enough, altough I did use two coats for this manicure.

Photo was taken outside, no sun (actually heavy overcast):

And a bonus picture - very first snow in this season:

Is there any snow where you live yet?

Thanks for stopping by! Have a nice weekend :)

NOTD: Essie Limited Addiction

Here is another nail polish from my Essie Fall 2010 order - Limited Addiction. Not much to say about this one, except that people over at Essie sure know how to make a good red nail polish. This is one of them :)

Here it is, 2 coats; photo was taken outside, no sun (heavy overcast):

Some off topic about life... I got temporary employment untill the end of this year. I work at a elementary school in a town near my home with the children with learning disabilities. I started on Thursday, so I already have two working days behind me. I must say it's not easy, especially after being home (unemployed) for two years.

Thanks for stopping by and have a nice weekend!

NOTD: Essie Sew Psyched

Wow! Essie really has made a fantastic Fall 2010 Collection! I've ordered Sew Psyched, Limited Addiction and Merino Cool. I also wanted In Stitches, but my budget said: "No!" *lol*

I just couldn't wait to try them on. I started with Sew Psyched. And because I'm no good at describing colours, I'll stick with the official desription. Essie says it's: "Cashmere-soft sage pewter." So here you go ;)

I must say I was impressed! This colour is so freaking awesome in real life, that I'm actually thinking about getting a back up bottle... And formula of this baby is just amazing too! Smooth, great pigmentation... Love!
I used two coats for this manicure. But enough talking, on to the pictures! :D

Avon Glimmerstick Diamonds Eyeliner - Review & Swatches

Here I go again with this post...

Today I'm going to review and show you the swatches of my currently favourite eyeliners - Avon Glimmerstick Diamonds Eyeliner. I have all six shades that are available in our country.

These eyeliners are soft (but this can be subjective), go on smoothly (no skin dragging) and are nicely pigmented. Even though mine are shimmery or should I say with micro-glittery particles, they are smooth - you don't feel any of those particles. They don't smudge on me and they are long lasting.
The packaging is also very practical - these eyeiners do not need to be sharpened, they come out automatically when you twist the upper part of the liner.

What's important too - they are suitable even for the clumpsy people when it comes to drawing a line on your upper lid - I'm one of them, so I can tell :D

I especially like to use them under my lower lashes to add some sparkles there.

Perhaps the down side is that even after removing this eyeliner there are some of the glittery particles left - I find them between my lashes even few days after I wore it.

On to the pictures...

The packaging:

And here are the swatches (images are clickable):

From L to R: Black Ice, Brown Sugar, Emerald Glow, Smokey Diamond, Sugar Plum, Twilight Sparkle.

Which are your favourite eyeliners? Please, do share!

NOTD: Essie St. Barths Blue

Grrrr... Blogger caused me quite some troubles today. I was trying to make a post earlier this afternoon about Avon's Glimmerstick Diamonds Eyeliners and after I made one, my entire layout looked like it was hit by tornado... So I deleted it and tried to post it again. Well, how about that - it happened again, exactly the same thing - layout was a complete mess. I gave up at that point...

Instead of that I'm going to show you now my today's NOTD, hopefully this time it will work.
I'm wearing Essie's St. Barths Blue. Very light blue shade with very subtle shimmer. I like it a lot, but I think it doesn't look very good on me. It was easy to work with. I thought it will be very sheer, but a thicker second layer gives a great coverage.

So here it is, two coats, photo taken outside, sun:

What do you think about this one?

NOTD: Catrice Clay-ton, My Hero

My relationship with Essence Metallics nail polish in shade Steel Me didn't last very long... What can I say? It was fun while it lasted. But we didn't get along very well, so I dumped the fella.

Today I'm here with my new friend, actually he's a Hero. Don't ask me why... I'm talking about the polish - Catrice Clay-ton, My Hero, if you were wondering, what the hell I'm babbling about. Shimmery taupe shade. Very nice and smooth application, I used two coats.

Playing With The Essence Metallics Trend Edition

With the help of very nice girls from Ars Cosmetica Forum I have finally got all the items I wanted from Essence Metallics TE :D

Here are my picks from this Trend Edition (some other items I've bought are already packed and ready to go to the new owners):

- Quattro Eyeshadow in 01 Nothing Else Metals
- Smokey Eyes Pencil in Metal Battle
- Metallics Nail Polish in 02 Copper Rulez! and 03 Steel Me

Of course I had to try out the magnetic polishes right away. Here you can see nail polish in shade 03 Steel Me and my lame attempt trying to get the pattern *lol*

These polishes are certainly fun to play with, but quite hard to handle on the other hand... They're thick - you have apply one very thick coat, then you must be very fast to put the magnet as close to the nail polish as it gets (and try not to ruin your manicure, because the polish still has to be wet in order the magnet to work). But this was only my first attempt, so I hope next time I'll do better...

Here is the magnet I used - it's from the Shrek Movie (because the one that comes with this collection isn't that good) :D

What do you think?

NOTD: Catrice Lucky In Lilac

How are you doing? :)

I've finally become a bit more active, so I don't just sit around the house and feel so isolated anymore. I've already mentioned that I'm taking Italian lessons and have I also started to work out 2 times a week - I've joined to the group of ladies where we do some aerobics and pilates exercises. And must say I like it a lot.

What's on my nails, you say? It's Catrice Lucky in Lilac - beautiful creme lilac shade. Here it is, 2 coats:
